I am currently an assistant professor at Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, USA. I was formerly an assistant research scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Simulation Based Engineering Laboratory (SBEL), and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Rock County. I perform research in continuum mechanics, micromechanics, and numerical methods, especially the discrete element method (DEM), computational multibody dynamics, and the finite element method (FEM). I also perform research in constructive mathematical logic and Kripke model theory. I am an associate member of the lay apostolate of the Franciscans of the Immaculate (FI), the Mission of the Immaculate Mediatrix (MIM). I have written peer reviewed articles on the subjects of Solid Mechanics, Computational Multibody Dynamics, Mathematical Logic, and Mariology. I am a regular contributor to the bi-monthly magazine Missio Immaculatae International, published by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in the USA. I am married to Clara M.B. Fleischmann, and we have six children: Gertrude, Thomas, Mattias, Anselm, Philip, and Edith!
